Destination winery and guest houses:
Christensen Ridge is a destination winery on more than 200 acres
of the Blue Ridge with the most beautiful views Virginia has to
offer of mountains, farmland, and a vineyard with some of the oldest
vinifera vines in Virginia. The first releases announced by Christensen
Ridge are premium handcrafted Tuscan Blend, Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay,
and Vidal Blanc. Wines are also available for order by phone, fax,
or e-mail. Owner Larry Christensen said, We have created a
casual, elegant atmosphere where are guests are welcome for an hour,
a day, or a week.
Tasting room hours:
Tasting room hours are 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friday, Saturday
and Sunday March through September and November and December. To
celebrate the turning of the leaves, Christensen Ridge is open every
day but Monday in October. Open Labor Day.
Main house and log cabin guest houses:
Christensen Ridge offers two guest houses, each rented in their
entirety. The main house with its generous 10-foot ceilings and
huge country kitchen, has two private suites and a total of five
bedrooms, three bathrooms, a swimming pool, eight fireplaces, a
living room, a formal dining room, an entertainment room, a mountain-side
patio, and a front porch overlooking the estate and vineyards. The
main house is ideal for two or three families vacationing together,
family reunions, business retreats, and weddings. The views at Christensen
Ridge are remarkable. The romantic three-story log cabin has one
bedroom, an entertainment room with queen sized hide-a-bed, a living
room with fireplace, a kitchenette, a mountain-side deck, and a
sunrise side porch. Both houses are air-conditioned and have DirectV.
Where is Christensen Ridge Winery?
Six miles from Madison,
Virginia, about 75 miles from the Washington Beltway, 34 miles from
Charlottesville, VA, and 7 miles from Graves Mountain Lodge. From
Madison, take 231 north four miles, left on 351, right on 352, left
