Discover the romance and history that is Philip Carter Winery. Less than an hour from Washington, D.C. nestled on 27 acres of rolling hills in the heart of Fauquier County's Wine Country, the intimate surroundings and lush green vineyards provide a majestic backdrop to enjoy premium wines that are produced in honor of Charles Carter's dream for Virginia begun roughly 250 years ago.

HOURS: Thursday - Monday 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Closed Easter, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day

TASTING & TOUR FEES: $5 includes souvenir glass

FOOD AVAILABILITY: light fare, i.e. cheese and crackers

DIRECTIONS: Take I-66 west to Exit 18 (Markham). Take a left at end of exit ramp. Cross State Road 55, then take right at the stop sign. Continue on 688 for 3.6 miles, and take a left on Stillhouse Road. Entrance is on the right.
